3rd May Constitution

07 May 2024

“The greatest of the three holidays at the beginning of May falls on the 3rd day of the month. The Constitution of May 3, which we commemorate every year, was adopted in 1791 and was one of the last attempts to save our tortured motherland – Poland from foreign, hostile powers. Reforms introduced by The Government Act (this is how we call the Constitution of May 3) were truly bold and characterized by the spirit of the Enlightenment. Let us remember that our constitution was the first such act in Europe and the second in the world!”
Mateusz Słowiński, history and social studies teacher.
